Exercise involves engaging in physical activity and increasing the heart rate beyond resting levels. It is an important part of preserving physical and mental health.

Whether people engage in light exercise, such as going for a Walking, swimming, yoga, slow flat riding ,or high intensity activities, for example, uphill cycling or weight training, regular exercise provides a huge range of benefits for the body and mind.

In the long term, it reduces the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, dementia, depression, and many cancers.

For adults of all ages, at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise like brisk walking or 75 minutes of rigorous exercise like running (or an equivalent mix of both) every week. It’s fine to break up exercise into smaller sessions as long as each one lasts at least 10 minutes.

2. Choosing activities that you enjoy. It’s easier to make exercise a regular part of your life if you have fun doing it.
3. Exercising safely, with proper equipment, to prevent injuries. Also, listen to your body and don’t overdo it.
